The sea water around the caves is vivid blue and thus they call them "The Blue Caves". Gaios is a harbour town and the capital of the Ionian Islands of Paxos. It’s named after the saint that brought Christianity to the island. Is a charming large village that surrounds a crescent-shaped and pretty and picturesque Port that serves as the principal travel hub of the island. As the liveliest of the three main villages on Paxos, there are a good selection of restaurants, tavernas, coffee bars and shops to be found in the many streets that lead from the Venetian main square. Spend the night on board in the bay.
After breakfast and a good coffee, we sail south towards Antipaxos, a small and uninhabited island, to enjoy the beautiful and unspoiled sandy bays. The views from the top are remarkable. It has the ambiance of an Ionian Island, from turquoise waters and breathtaking mountains to elegant architecture. Upon arrival you will have the opportunity to visit and find a special place to have dinner.
We start the day navigating to Petriti, a fishing village located on the southeast coast of Corfu. A popular attraction in Petriti is its fishing port. The port is home to several fishing boats and offers visitors the opportunity to watch the local fishermen at work. Here you can also sample some of the fresh seafood at one of the many restaurants located near the port. You’ll enjoy beautiful seaside sunset views while the many moored boats create a variety of interesting color combinations with the water! Take a walk through the village and admire the traditional architecture and charming streets. Have dinner and spend the night on board.
Once we enjoy a nice swim and breakfast, we will start sailing towards the OLD FORTRESS. There is no visitor to the island who is not enchanted by the view of Garitsa Bay. After having lunch on board, you can visit this special place. The most imposing monument in Corfu, the old fortress built on a rocky peninsula with two characteristic hills (Corifes), the Old Fortress is positioned at the eastern end of the citadel. What makes the Old Fortress special is, without a doubt, the inspiring 360 degree, panoramic view it offers of the Ionian Sea and Old Corfu Town. For many centuries the Venetian built fortress underwent transformations and extensions. Today, the Old Fortress along with the New Fortress, Old Corfu Town and its other fortifications, and Castles are also UNESCO World Heritage.
