Our base is situated at Yacht Classic Hotel Marina, in Fethiye, home to our bareboat fleet of catamarans and monohulls. The base acts as a perfect starting point for discovering Turkey’s south west Coastline, where you can venture north to visit Marmaris or sail south to famous Olu Deniz and its Blue Lagoon – one of the best snorkelling spots in Turkey.
The history of Fethiye
Fethiye, located in southwestern Turkey, has a rich history dating back to the 5th century BCE. Originally known as Telmessos, it was a prominent city in Lycia. The city became part of the Persian Empire, later influenced by Greek and Roman civilisations. Fethiye experienced significant growth under Byzantine and Ottoman rule. It was renamed in honor of Ottoman pilot Fethi Bey. Today, Fethiye is renowned for its ancient ruins, including rock tombs and a Roman theatre, attracting numerous tourists to its historical sites and natural beauty.

With its gorgeous Mediterranean temperatures, the best time to sail Turkey are between the months of April and October, with average temperatures ranging from between 24ºC and 30ºC. Sailing during these times we’ll ensure wonderful calm seas, beautiful sunshine and gentle winds – perfect for any sailing ability.

Flights to Dalaman airport are available from most UK airports, either directly or via Istanbul Airport. Dalaman Airport is approximately 45 mins away from our base in Fethiye.
